Website information
Privacy notice.
What happens to your information when you visit this website.
Who this notice covers
Eat Your Heart Out is an independent film made by individuals. This notice covers the film website at eatyourheartout.movie. The person responsible for deciding how this website uses personal information, known as the data controller, will be identified here before this notice is published.
This draft describes the website’s current features. It does not yet cover any separate use of donor or ticket-buyer records by the film team or event organiser.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted on Vercel, which processes connection and request information to deliver the pages, images and video you ask for, keep the website secure and diagnose faults. This can include your IP address, browser details, the page requested, request time and the referring page.
The film website has no account registration, contact form or mailing-list sign-up. Its own code does not set cookies or browser storage, and this version includes no analytics or advertising trackers. Hosting security features and services you choose to open may handle information separately. Vercel’s privacy notice explains its own processing.
Videos and device storage
The teaser video is served from this website. Watching it does not load a YouTube player.
Emma’s introduction uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. It stays blocked until you press play. At that point, YouTube receives connection details, including your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies or similar device storage to operate the player. Its processing is described in Google’s privacy policy.
You can leave the introduction unopened. Reloading the page removes the loaded player; your browser settings control any cookies or storage already saved. Any optional tracking within embedded services must be checked before publication and blocked until any legally required consent is given.
Past event bookings
Tickets for the 3 October 2026 event were booked through Ticket Tailor. This website no longer offers ticket checkout; the privacy information below remains relevant to past bookings.
Ticket Tailor processes ticket-buyer information on behalf of the event organiser. The organiser must explain its use of booking data, including any records shared with the film team. Those arrangements and the organiser’s privacy notice need to be confirmed before this draft is published. Ticket Tailor’s privacy policy explains this distinction.
Greenlit and other links
The campaign figures are read from Greenlit by this website’s server. That request does not forward your IP address, cookies, browser details or referring page to Greenlit. The figures are public campaign information.
Choosing the donation link takes you to Greenlit, where it collects the information you provide and handles payment through its own services. Read Greenlit’s privacy notice before donating. Any donor records received separately by the film team need to be covered in the final notice.
Links to IMDb, Instagram and YouTube open those services. Their privacy policies apply to your activity there.
Why information is used
Where UK data-protection law applies, the intended basis for routine website delivery and security is legitimate interests: keeping the site available, fixing faults and preventing misuse. The operator needs to confirm that assessment before publication.
Video playback loads when you request it. Providers of linked services and the relevant organiser must explain the purposes and legal bases for their own use of personal information. Browsing this website is not treated as consent to optional tracking.
Retention and international transfers
Hosting logs are kept under the active Vercel plan and settings. The applicable retention period, and any information kept separately to investigate faults or misuse, still need to be confirmed for the final notice. No fixed deletion period is promised in this draft.
Vercel, Google and payment services can process information in other countries. The operator’s hosting arrangements, relevant destinations and safeguards for international transfers need confirming before publication. The linked provider policies describe their own arrangements.
Your rights and complaints
Where UK data-protection law applies, you can ask for access to your personal information and correction of inaccurate details. Depending on the circumstances, you can also ask for deletion or restricted use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request a portable copy of qualifying information. You can withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful use.
The contact route for requests and privacy complaints will be added before publication. If UK law applies, the operator must acknowledge privacy complaints within 30 days, investigate them and communicate the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if UK law applies, or the relevant data-protection authority in your jurisdiction.
This website does not make automated decisions about visitors that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Changes to this notice
This page will be updated when the operator details are confirmed or the website’s use of information changes. The date above identifies the version you are reading.
